Lupe Aguilar’s interest in photography began as a flight attendant. He was inspired by the exotic places he traveled to and the people he met from different cultures. As his interest grew as a hobbyist, his passion was ignited and he decided to change his career path and attend the Colorado Institute of Art 1985 – 1987.
His first position as an assistant was a full time position with Mike Chessser, working in retail advertisement for national advertisement. He made a name for himself as an assistant and had the opportunity to polish his skills alongside photographers such as Robert Grigg, Lee Katz, Tom Kato and Clint Clemens. His assignments included celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Will Smith, and Warrant.
His first opportunity as a photographer was with the Broadway and Robinson’s May Corporation in Los Angeles photographing high volume retail advertisement. An opportunity arose and he was offered a full time position in Dallas, Texas working in retail advertisement for national advertisement with J.C.Penny’s, Dillards, and Sear’s.
Following a move to Denver in 1997 with his family, Lupe Aguilar Photography began to work for Barbazon Modeling Agency and was photographing models for portfolio’s in his studio. As he continued to craft his work he began to specialize in Food, Product, and Boudoir Photography.
